Iowa Diabetes is led by Endocrinologist Dr. Anuj Bhargava who has devoted much of his adult life to changing the future of diabetes. He understands first-hand the impact of diabetes, having immediate family members battling the disease.

Dr. Bhargava believes that a comprehensive approach is required to change diabetes and that technology, education, and research should play a role in this change. He is hopeful that Iowa Diabetes and all that it offers can make an impact for the hundreds of thousands of people with diabetes in Iowa.

In his persistent fight against diabetes, Dr. Bhargava armed himself with a Fellowship in Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism at University of Wisconsin, he obtained a physician executive MBA from the University of Tennessee, and is also a Certified Diabetes Educator. Dr. Bhargava started Iowa Diabetes Research in 2007 which has grown to initiate more than 100 diabetes studies and serve 1,600+ patients.
